Q. How long have you been playing field hockey?

A. Since 6th grade.

Q. What made you start playing field hockey?

A. I used to play soccer, but I didn’t like it. I wanted to play more aggressive sports. So my mom signed me up for field hockey.

Q. Why did you choose the position?

A. Because field hockey is an aggressive sport. Come up to people, kick the ball, and drive the ground. Being a goalie is the most fun and stressful. There’s lots of pressure. I’m in my zone. I love it.

Q. What is the best thing about field hockey?

A. I would say the best thing is being on the team, working for each other. I don’t want to let my team down. The teammates are all my sisters. We win together, lose together. I also like how it is a complex sport. That’s why it’s cool.

Q. Do you have any memorable moments?

A. This year, the game with MIT and UMass Dartmouth are stinking in my mind a lot. I would say that this year was pretty good. First week, we beat MIT. It was a really big deal for us. And, we also beat UMass Dartmouth this year, although we couldn’t win last season. Both were this year’s highlights.

Mel Malkonian was named NEWMAC offensive player of the week, and I was named NEWMAC defensive player of the week at the same time. That was awesome. Also, in October, Meg Lennon was named NEWMAC defensive player of the week. We have so much talent on this team.

Q. What do you hope for your juniors?

A. I hope they just play hard every game because we did it this year. Be hungry to win. I hope they have that, and keep the mentality.

Q. What is your motivation?

I would say I’m motivated by my teammates and coach. My coach works really hard.
