Once in a blue moon, Mountain Dew, the topographically-minded beverage company, decides to unveil a new formula of green-hued fluid. Recently, the beverage community has been obsessed with the concept of “dirty” drinks. These drinks emerged from Mormon soda culture and the concoctions brewed at the popular Utah chain Swig. Since Mormons cannot drink coffee, soda has emerged as a popular alternative. Amongst these sodas, the dirty soda has become one of the most popular. It consists of any soda with added cream or creamer. Mountain Dew released their version simply called “Dirty Mountain Dew,” which is just the original Mountain Dew with added cream. The soda bottle itself is brown and light green. This is an unattractive design for a drink with an unclean name. But the best way to describe the flavor is a smooth cream-centered beverage with added Mountain Dew. My main problem with this drink is that it’s a bit too cream-heavy and I would’ve preferred a bit more of that citrus punch from the Dew. Overall, Dirty Mountain gets a 6/10.
