Seahawks VS Cardinals:
The Arizona Cardinals visited Lumen Field on Sunday, Nov. 10, for their second meeting with the Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals are in a rough position, as they aren’t good enough to get more than five to seven wins, but they aren’t bad enough to garner the first overall pick in the 2026 draft. Their quarterback woes of the past few seasons have continued through this year, as they are now starting journeyman backup Jacoby Brissett. This game showed the Cardinals’ weaknesses, as the Seahawks completely dominated this game. The run game got almost 200 yards on 46 carries, combining all the players who made running plays, and got two touchdowns. The Seattle defense also got in on the scoring action with a little bit of deja vu, as Linebacker Tyrice Knight got two strip sacks, which were both returned for touchdowns by Edge Rusher DeMarcus “Tank” Lawrence. Lawrence is now the fourth player in NFL history to have multiple scoop-n-scores in a single game, and also had four tackles, including a tackle for a loss and half a sack. Even though the offense scored 30 points, their numbers don’t look that impressive, but only because the starting offense was pulled in the third quarter to prevent injuries. Sam Darnold only threw 12 passes this week, and still got 178 yards, and Jaxon “JSN” Smith-Njigba was able to turn five catches into 93 yards and a touchdown. Smith-Njigba still leads the league in receiving yards with a substantial lead of 210 yards, is the only receiver to have over 1,000 yards this season, and is the fastest Seahawk in franchise history to get 1,000 yards. This team looks amazing and is looking poised to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Buccaneers VS Patriots:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the New England Patriots for their week 10 matchup. This game was expected to be an exciting one, and it certainly lived up to expectations. These two teams both had Tom Brady as their quarterback during his career, and they both have found excellent replacements for him, as both teams have been playing excellent football. This game was played down to the last minute, with neither quarterback giving up. Ultimately, the Patriots came out on top, with a score of 28-23. This game makes me worried for the Bucs, as it seems like the injuries to some of their best players are starting to catch up to them. To be clear, quarterback Baker Mayfield is still playing great, but he doesn’t have much talent surrounding him at present due to injuries. Rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka also looks great and will probably win offensive rookie of the year honors, but again, with most of Tampa Bay’s weapons on the bench, it’s hard for them to get any convincing wins. As for the Patriots, sophomore quarterback Drake Maye looks like an MVP candidate, and new head coach Mike Vraibel looks like the perfect fit for the job. While I think they will make the playoffs, I hope they won’t play my Seahawks in the Super Bowl, so I don’t have to look at that awful interception 60 times during the Super Bowl.
Dolphins VS Bills:
The Buffalo Bills traveled south to face their rivals, the Miami Dolphins, after coming off a win against the reigning AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs. The Dolphins, against all odds, managed to get a fairly dominant win against Buffalo this week, with a score of 30-13. This game was very confusing to me, as I did not expect either team to perform like this. The Dolphins have not looked great all year, but seem to be picking up the pieces. I still think head coach Mike McDaniel will be fired come season’s end, but it looks like they have some pieces in place (mostly running back De’Von Achane) to turn the ship around and begin to compete. As for the Bills, I don’t know what’s going on with this team. Some weeks, they seem to be playing complete, efficient football, and other weeks, they put out a performance like this. It seems to me that it could be that the Bills are relying too much on running back James Cook, as it seems that they only play well when he’s playing well. If the Bills want to take back their division from the Patriots, it seems like they will have to either make a change with their Offensive Coordinator or take some big swings on offense in the draft and in free agency. All in all, I think the Bills should be a playoff team, and they probably will be, but this team is playing with such inconsistency that I cannot trust them at all right now.
